PTP Announce availabilty of an upgrade for 25 1.4 or ZR105 Owners
Dreaming about more power for your MGZR/R25 1.4? PTP will convert your 105ps 1.4 engine to a 140ps 1.8 engine for only £1995 fitted and including VAT and know it will get your adrenaline pumping!! The power increase gives a massive improvement to the vehicles torque and bottom end grunt making any converted MGZR/R25 a real car to contend with.
First, the complete engine assembly is removed from the car and stripped. The original cylinder block is re-used and built with larger 1.8 litre pistons, piston rings, piston liners, conrods, and crankshaft replacing all bearings, gaskets and seals. Next is the cylinder head, the two standard camshafts are removed from the cylinder head and replaced with PTP R140 high lift long duration camshafts, new seals, gaskets and camshaft belt.
To increase the airflow to the new 1.8 litre engine, a larger 52mm alloy throttle is fitted along with a gas flowed cast alloy inlet manifold (similar to that on the ZR160). To ensure the correct running of the new 1.8 litre R140 engine, the customers ECU is re-tuned to deliver optimum performance whilst maintaining the correct idle speed and emission levels for MOT testing.
Once the engine is complete its fitted back into the car with new antifreeze, Xpower engine oil and an oil filter, stickers are also supplied for the exterior of the car and engine bay for that finishing touch. All parts supplied in the 1.4 to 1.8cc R140 conversion are new & genuine MG Rover components where appropriate. Although the upgrade works perfectly fine with the standard air intake and exhaust system, the best results are achieved when upgraded air intake and exhaust system are also fitted such as the Janspeed Xpower exhaust and ITG air intake system we also offer or an alternative.
